When do the Class Schedules come out?
For Spring semester: Mid October.
For Summer semester: Mid March.
For Fall Semester: Mid April.
Course Schedules may be purchased both in the store or from this web site.
When is your next sale?
We have various storewide sales throuhgout the year. We also have Bookstore department and product specific sales. Watch our website for sales notices and the signs in the Taggart Student Center hallway. Also, you can join our email mailing list to hear about upcoming sales and events.
What forms of payment are accepted at the USU Bookstore?
In-store we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Personal Checks, Cash, Aggie Express and Gift Cards.
For online and phone-in orders we accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Textbooks
Are my textbooks are tax-free?
Beginning April 1, 2008, there will be no sales tax charged on textbooks sold at the USU Bookstore. This will include all forms of textbooks as required by the Professor of the course. Including required, optional, recommended or rental textbooks, hardback, paperback, loose-leaf, CD, DVD, E-book and course readers purchased at the USU Bookstore.
How do I know what book to purchase?
In order to assist students in purchasing the correct curriculum-related
materials, the USU Bookstore prepares for months before the term starts. We
collect all of the textbook information directly from the instructors and
departments. This ensures that we have the correct textbooks for your classes.
Should I buy new or used?
While some may want new textbooks free from marks and highlighting, others may
prefer to save up to 25% by purchasing used textbooks. We stock
as many used textbooks as possible. Used books are in high
demand, so hurry in, shop early, and save money.
What is a custom published book or course reader?
Some instructors choose to create a custom book for their course with excerpts
from multiple sources. The Bookstores Academic Publishing Department works with
these instructors to obtain copyright permissions and to create the final
product. These are printed at university copy centers and sold in the
Bookstore. These may include course readers, syllabi, course notes, and entire
books that are no longer in print.
When are books available for the upcoming semester?
USU Bookstore begins receiving books about 8 weeks before the term begins. By
three weeks prior to the start of the term over 90% of the titles are available
for purchase. To get access to the biggest selection of new and used books, we
recommend you shop early, or use Book-It textbook reservations.
Book It
A great way to get your books is to reserve them using BookIt. You reserve; we
pull and box the right books for your classes, and have them ready for you to pick up when you arrive on campus. Order at the

What should I do when a book for my class is sold out?
You can place a special order at the textbook customer service desk. On average your book will arrive in 5 business days. Special orders are prepaid and non-refundable. There is no extra fee for this service.
How can I sell my books at the end of the term?
Sell them at textbook buyback. We pay up to 50% of the new retail price. buyback.

Can I get a discount on computers and software?

General books
What is the difference between a trade book and a textbook?
Trade books include reference books, best sellers, children's books, religious books and other general reading books. However, the trade book department may carry several books that supplement class textbooks. Textbooks are books that are specifically ordered for use in class by instructors.
Can you special order a trade book that is not in stock?
Yes. We would be glad to special order any book for you at NO additional charge. Generally, we can get your book within 7 - 10 working days. There is an additional fee for express shipping.
